School Leaders 2015

4/02/2015

At the end of last year, our 2015 School Captains, School Vice-Captains and unior Secondary Captains were chosen.

We would like to congratulate the following students: School Captains, Kristina Vang and Maanu Emery and our School Vice-Captains, Alex Irving and Lynnie Dolman-Tuhou.  These four outstanding students will be supported by our two Junior Secondary Captains, Bayley Romeril and Elise Carsburg.

Our school is in good hands with our captains in 2015:

Kristina Vang

Kristina has been enrolled at Wynnum High for the past 5 years and is currently studying English, Art, Mathematics B, Geography, Biology and Film and Television.  Kristina applied for the position of School Captain because she hopes to be able to give the students a voice and bring the school community closer together.  In 2016 Kristina hopes to travel before going to university in 2017.  Her favourite book is Looking for Alaska by John Green.

Maanu Emery

Maanu has been enrolled at Wynnum High since February 2013 and is currently studying English, Mathematics A, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education and Certificate II in Sport and Recreation.  He believes he has the leadership skills to help Wynnum High become the best school in 2015. He hopes to help Wynnum High by being a role model to the student body. Maanu has a keen interest in sport and physical fitness and in his spare time plays rugby league and touch. In 2016 he hopes to go to university to study paramedicine or teaching.  His favourite book is The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald.

Alex enrolled at Wynnum High in 2012 and currently studies English, Mathematics B, Mathematics C, Graphics, Business Communication and Technologies and Physics.  He applied for the position of School Leader because he was looking for a new challenge and hopes to encourage other students to be their best in 2015. His favourite subject is Physics and his favourite book is Roo by Mark Ricciuto.

Junior Secondary Captains

Elise Carsburg

Elise is a great believer in the PROUD mantra and applied for the position of Junior Secondary Captain because she believes that she can help make the new Year 7 and 8s feel part of the school community.  She was School Captain of Wynnum State School in 2013.

Bayley Romeril

Bayley applied for the position of Junior Secondary Captain because he felt he could make a positive contribution to helping make the Year 7 and Year 8 students welcome at Wynnum High.  Bailey’s interests include sport and music and Bailey’s love for all sports saw him elected as Sports Captain at his primary school as well.

Best wishes for a great year!
