Junior Secondary at Wynnum High is growing!
It’s been an exciting week in Junior Secondary at Wynnum High with the Years 7 and 8 students starting their secondary schooling with us. The students seem to be settling in well and learning about the Wynnum High PROUD culture.
Today, Years 7 and 8 students received a letter about the Emu Gully camp which takes place in Week 4. We have also emailed a copy to you. Because camp is so early in the year, the timeframe is tight for the return of forms and payment. Please send your permission form back by next Tuesday, 3rd February to secure a place. You will be invoiced shortly afterwards.
We’d also like to welcome back our Year 9 students who all seem to have grown over the holidays. They are getting to know their new teachers and enjoying their electives.
Lots of interesting and challenging opportunities are coming up for Junior Secondary students. The first is Student Council. As mentioned earlier, at the end of last year students elected Elise Carsburg and Bayley Romeril as Junior Secondary School Captains. Over the next week or so each Year 7, 8 and 9 class will select up to two class reps who will form the Junior Secondary School Council. School Councillors will participate in co-ordinating a number of activities for students throughout the year.
