Student Council – Fun Connection, and making an Impact
Last term, Student Council hosted Tattoo a Teacher, an event that gave students the opportunity to select and purchase temporary tattoos for participating teachers. It was a fantastic way to raise money for Student Council while also bringing some light-hearted fun to the school.

Face tattoos were definitely the most popular choice. Some teachers chose tasteful tattoos that were carefully and delicately placed, while others were covered so completely that they were almost unrecognisable. Throughout the day, students and staff shared plenty of laughs as teachers proudly showed off their new looks.

Events like this remind us why the teachers at Wynnum State High School are so great. They are willing to get involved, put their egos aside and have fun with students. Student Council would like to thank every teacher who volunteered and every student who purchased a tattoo and supported the event.

We are now working on an event to recognise Bullying No Way, which will take place in Week 6. This is an important and meaningful event because bullying is a global issue that young people want support with. And at Wynnum State High School – we want everyone to feel safe, happy, and to learn.

Student Council members are passionate about the idea that small actions can create a big impact. A kind word, an invitation to join a group, checking in with someone or speaking up when something is wrong can help another student feel seen and supported.

Through this event, we hope to strengthen connection, belonging and acceptance across our school. Every student deserves to feel safe, valued and included, and we all have a role to play in making that happen.
