Welcome to Term 3 at Wynnum SHS. It’s my pleasure to join the school as the new permanent principal. A thank you must be given for all that have made my introduction to the school, including staff, students and community a positive and inviting experience. It’s a joy being in this community so far and I’m excited to get to get more familiar with the people and the stories of the bayside area in the coming weeks and months. Professionally I come from a broad range of leadership experiences. I have served as a leader within the state education system in a large variety of schools, hailing from a secondary teaching background.
From all accounts, a busy term has just passed here at Wynnum SHS with many opportunities for students to learn and excel. Importantly, academic reports for each student will be sent home this week for students and families to review. This report marks the halfway point of learning for your student this year. Regardless of your student’s level of achievement, please use this academic report as the basis of a conversation about learning improvement. Learning how to improve learning never ends, it is a lifelong endeavour and a skill students all need as they transition from school to life beyond the Wynnum SHS gates.
I look forward to meeting more of our students, staff and community as Term 3 unfolds.
Warm regards,
Sandra Quinn
Principal
