On Friday 1st April, the school hosted its annual House Cross Country event under perfect running conditions. It was fantastic to see our Wynnum community come out in full force and support their houses, wearing their colours and getting into the ‘house spirit’ by participating in either running or walking events. Each event was assigned points to see who would take out the award and have some bragging rights until the Athletics Carnival in Term 3.
Cunningham was triumphant with a total of 804 points and were crowned winners of the 2022 House Cross Country event. It was a massive effort and their students turned out in big numbers to take the event. Well done Cunningham!
Congratulations to our Age Champions who represented the school at the Bayside District Cross Country carnival on May 5th, as well as a number of place getters from different age groups. A few records were also smashed. Awesome effort!
The HPE and Sports Department would like to thank all the students who participated and supported their house, as well as the wonderful staff, House Leaders, maintenance crew and student helpers for their various efforts in different roles on the day. Also thanks goes to Mr Bekiros, for his organisation of the Cross Country event over the term.
