Sold Out!
On Wednesday of Week 7, Year 9 Business Studies students held Market Day. Market Day was part of the Year 9’s Entrepreneurship unit, in which they took part in the $20 Boss program. The program is an immersive entrepreneurship program that provides students an opportunity to design, create, launch and operate their very own business.
After researching and selecting their good or service, students used their $20 loans to develop a budget, purchase the relevant resources, design a marketing campaign, and demonstrate their newly developed skills through the operation and running of their business market stall.
Market Day saw over 20 stalls selling their goods. These included waffles with ice cream and toppings, a variety of brownies and slices, cupcakes, bubble tea, chicken wings, hot chips and nuggets, a sausage sizzle and more! During Market Day, stalls were flooded with students and teachers, with some lines stretching back over 20 people! As the pressure of delivering quality goods and service rose, so did the tills of each business, with every group making back their $20 loans - plus a little more!
A massive congratulations to all Year 9 Business Studies students for their hard work and dedication throughout the unit. It seems we have a number of budding entrepreneurs here at Wynnum!
